White Cane BINGO
In 1925, Helen Keller challenged Lions to become "knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness" and members have eagerly embraced the call ever since. The Foster City Lions Club is an active participant in a worldwide movement to provide resources and services to the blind and visually impaired.
The Foster City Lions Club has been sponsoring the white cane bingo fundraiser event for 13 years benefiting the Lions Club sight conservation projects. In the past years, it has been held at the Foster City Recreation Center. In 2020, our 14th year due to COVID-19 the committee has decided to try to continue the tradition using Zoom event.

October 13, 2018 The Foster City Lions Club had a fun-filled evening which started with generous helpings of garlic bread and lasagna along with raffles, silent auction, and ten rounds of bingo. Thanks to all the volunteers and the sponsors of tonight's event. Special recognition goes to Kateryna Davydova, Sowmya Vundamati, and Jimmy Ness for their planning and hard work.
October 15, 2016 Lion Art calls out the bingo numbers where proceeds from the evening's lasagna dinner and raffle ticket sales are going to benefit Lions Club sight conservation projects. Thank you Lion Barbara, Lion Kateryna, and Lion Pierre for organizing the event as well as all the volunteers.
October 24, 2017 We are grateful to all the sponsors and Lions who have donated gift certificates and articles for our gift baskets and auctions. Thank you Lions for volunteering and attending the event. A big shout out to all the wonderful kids who came to help us out.
October 5, 2014 The Foster City Cub Scout Pack 447 kicked off our club's 8th Annual White Cane Dinner and Bingo Fundraiser with a flag salute. We also had a fantastic turnout of young volunteers and parents who helped serve the lasagna and chocolate cake to over 100 guests. Proceeds from the event benefit the Lions Club Sight Conservation Projects.
November 14, 2020 For the first time due to Covid19, in our effort to support a local business, lasagna was from Cafe Savini. We did a curb-side lasagna pickup earlier in the day and bingo event was held over a Zoom event. We had the usual 10 game bingo & some raffle prizes in between. We had a total of 50 attendees at a given time. Some people had their bubble with them at their home. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped with putting the lasagna orders together and to the committee who thought of all the details to assure that this event goes as smoothly as possible. Lastly, thank you to our sponsors and our patrons who continue to support our cause. Without you, this event wouldn't be a success.
